#5 - Grand River South East Waterfall

The grand river south is the longest river in Mauritius. Close to its mouth, a waterfall is located, bringing some attraction to it. You can cliff jump from the waterfall, or just swim in its pool while enjoying the beautiful cascade. The road to arrive at the waterfall is rocky, so can be considered a bit challenging. But there is also the option to go there by boat, leaving by a nearby village as Île aux Cerfs. Which goes on an everyday basis.

#4 - Z’ile Beach

Even though this location is not from Mauritius itself, we found it to be a very interesting concept and place to enjoy. It is not a spot, but definitely a “one of things to do before dying”. Z’ile beach is a floating island, a platform of woods with sand, in the ocean and far away from civilization. The platform contains tables, chairs, a DJ stand and even a small bar where you can grab drinks and snacks. There are two options available related to time, the sunset chill (5 pm - 7pm) and Dinner under the Stars (7:30 - 10pm) or a combination with both times. The second option will bring a more sophisticated meal compared to the first one, bringing the sense of romantic dinner. The main idea of this place is to enjoy the sunset in the middle of the ocean with comfort, luxury and peace. On this website, there are all options and services available for Z’ile Beach All Inclusive Sundowner Evening Package - Mauritius Attractions.

#3 -  Kestrel Valley Nature Reserve

Kestrel Valley is located on the eastern part of Mauritius. It is a must go place for people who are interested to get in touch with the local wildlife, which includes some of the world’s most threatened animals and plants. One of these animals, it is a bird that gave the name to this Natural reserve, Kestrel. Kestrel is also a home to many indigenous species of trees and birds that were considered extinct, bringing the sense of a rehabilitation site for native species. The area counts with the constant presence of scientists and eco-volunteers. Volunteering is another good option for a different view of Mauritius in general, as people will be in deep contact with conservation projects and monitoring the wildlife. (If you are interested in more information related to this, here is a blog post from one of the volunteer of protecting paradise: PROTECTING PARADISE - Mauritius - Africa Geographic) Visitors can explore untouched nature areas and discover over 700 species that are only located in Mauritius. This can be done by foot or mountain bike, and once you reach the top, views of green sugarcane, diverse vegetation and animals can be seen.

#2 - Île aux Cerfs

Did you ever think about playing golf with a view to the sea? What about we add more to this and say that it is on an island inside an island? With turquoise water? This is probably a dream land to any golf fan. The island has a resort that puts the paradisiac vibes together with a 18 holes golf course facing the sea, bringing a unique view. Additionally to that, Île aux Cerfs is a home for one of the best locations to snorkel on Mauritius! The island is only accessible by boat, giving a feeling of privacy and luxury when arriving at it. Even though a large part of the island is covered by forest, it still calls attention because of the wide range of restaurants, water sports and land activities. Bringing the full package for whoever wants to enjoy the island at its finest.

#1 - Eau bleue waterfall

Also known as the Cascade Rama, the Eau Bleue is a trail that  takes around 1 hour to complete until the end and consists in 6 waterfall (7 on rainy season). It features our first spot as the best hidden spot in Mauritius. It’s considered one of the most adventurous spots on the island. Eau Bleue has a relatively challenging trail, which starts straight, but it gets steep on the middle way. It can get even more challenging on rainy days, which are usually considered the best days to visit. The rain season is from January to March, and it's considered the best time to visit because the waterfalls will be full. Some of them would be dry between September until December. The level of this trail is worthy of the final outcome, as it brings a sense of relaxation, peace and even adrenaline at the end of it. Additionally, the waterfall has spots to do cliff jumping into its turquoise pools. In the rainy seasons, the waterfall grows in power and the pool water level rises. Giving more opportunities to people that are skeptical about cliff jumping. Bring one of the best connections with nature that you could wish for bringing a sense of relaxation, peace and even adrenaline. This website How to visit Eau Bleue Waterfall Mauritius will bring more details about how to go to all waterfalls around Eau Blueu.
