Chamarel Waterfall is the first must to go place in Mauritius that needs to be mentioned. Chamarel is the biggest waterfall in Mauritius with 100 meters high. The top of the waterfall is inside private property, making it not accessible for the public. The plunge pool is also a very hard trail to access, unfortunately. But this doesn’t take the magical aspect that Charamel brings. There is a lookout that is easily accessible, with a deck where you can sightsee the waterfall with a breathtaking visual.

A panoramic view of Le Morne, Capital Port Louis, St. Pierre (another big city from Mauritius), and many more. The hiking is considered easy besides having a steep climb to the summit. Just a reminder that on the trails, you can find many different pathways that lead to different locations. The hiking can be made at different times of the day, one the best ones being at the sunset, a truly magnificent sight of how the day goes in Mauritius.
